Seeing the new European Champion, Dan Nott and of course also Dominic Lagace ripping the wake was a highlight for me! Thanks guys for your show throughout the whole event! You did go BIIIIG or even LASER, as Sandro Reinhardt would say! Those who where there, might understand me!

But also some others really showed us steeez and nice action! On the water, as well as whilst partying or chilling. So what I want to show you now, are some of my favorite shots from the weekend.

That’s it for the moment. I just got some more shots of that day in a small gallery. At this point thanks to Sebastian from Waterworldland for inviting the SYS-Tour. Perhaps also thanks to all those riders and the guys like Michael from Billabong and the NewSchnitzel Crew, for making this day happen. Hopefully they’ll visit Wertheim again, next year! In the end, Raph Derome from Canada ended up, taking the 1st place in wakeboarding category and Jan Kissmann defended his title from 2009 on the Wakeskate. The Wakeboard podium was completed by our German talent Nico von Lerchenfeld and Shaun Watson, Ben Horan took 2nd and Lukas Suess 3rd in Wakeskate category. But there was still the Best Trick to be announced and this title went also to Jan Kissmann for the wakeskating part and to Daniel “Fetzy” Fetz for the wakeboarders.  Here is the sequence of Daniels’ trick!

He already started doing this massive 270 transfer on Saturdays training and stomped nearly every try nice and clean! My personal favorite was Daniels answer after his first run on Sunday morning (first trainingrun of all compitors at the contest day!), when I asked him, why he didn’t do a safety run first: “Well Ben, you have just some hits here at this perfect setup and that’s why I want to use every single run as good as I can! ” BIG RESPECT! Fetzy definitely deserved those extra 500 bucks and reached 4th place in the end!

And here is the same action in “moving pictures”. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to get the perspective I wanted, because of the friendly camera-guy who was filming for the online stream! But I think this picture also shows the enormous action quite well. My bad I didn’t get the last frame completely and cut of some parts of Fetzy! Maybe otherwise it would have been something for print?! Here is the gif-file, anyway…

In the end, a perfect competition ended with some serious action! Thanks again to all those guys making it happen! This new target was not as easy as I thought, but after some minutes of “training” I got shots where no hand was cut of or the board wasn’t completely on my picture. Steffen gave his best, to grab his signature board - the NEWSCHNITZEL VS SWS - everywhere you can imagine! In the end we decided to take a boned Indy grab. Stylish one, Steffler!

What I want to show you here additionally are some further shots from our shooting, which didn’t make it to print. Even if it’s been an unusual picture we where shooting it’s been funny to work for this. Just check some further ones in this small gallery. I also added 3 lifestyle shots of Sebi Thums, who joined us.

Thanks to Pete and Reto for again a nice session at your spot. Reto also for doing the layout of the poster! Well done, dude! And also thanks to Georg for driving the Xstar due to the reason, that Pete had to look for her son, Benedikt. Finally I have to give a big out to Steffen for being the “model” and doing what we wanted him to do. Just grabing as much and long as possible! Good job!

First of all we needed a new “Cover” and that is, why I was shooting with Britta and Simm at the studio of a local TV-Station. Our shooting was really funny and in the end we had a good selection of pictures. Finaly Facy, the creative guy who designed the Poster together with organizing this event in coop with me and of course some help by others, used one of the last shots we took. I think it’s again a good one and of course, the subject of last year is now used in a new way.

The Board Fusion Session will take place on 10th of July and hopefully the weather will be better this time, than last year! There will be a photo and filming session whole day long and we expect some great action! As soon as sun sets, the action on the water will be followed by a gathering of the local Rope-Addicts crew and those guys from the Chill and Destroy Snowboard Tour and on top many friends, who want to celebrate just good times close to the lake!

Additionally I want to show you a small gallery with some more of my favorites, from the shooting with Britta, which didn’t make it on the posters and flyers! Of course  some funny ones, too. All pictures were taken in a ‘BlueBox’, for making it easier, to do the postproduction. I didn’t want to erase the background, to show you more of the ‘atmosphere’, during our shooting. So the pictures are nearly with no postproduction. Don’t care about that!

At this point a big thanks goes especially out to Britta, for doing a pretty good job! As well, thanks to Sarah and Simm, for your help! Was a funny one and needs to be continued…

But this had no effect on the riding! There where some surprises, already in the qualifying, but in the end Jan Kissmann won the Open Category, well deserved! He killed it whole day long and I really liked his style as well as he is a sympathetic and friendly guy! Thumbs up and congratulation Jan!

In the evening, the event-organizer, realized a Best Trick Winch Session presented by Red Bull at the party location, which was located in an open air pool with a lounge area. The setup consisted of a gap-slide, which was used for tricks off that slide. Luki Suess also showed us the possibility to shred the gap with an Ollie!

Jan rocked also that winch jam-session, pulled by two Neverride winches, and ended up winning with a 3-Shuv down the slide! The bad thing about that session was permanent rain, which made work much harder and gave us not to many possibilities. Even though I’m really happy with the outcome of that long day, which ended for me after 24h awake, some hundreds of pictures shot and 700 km on the road!

But if the spring was not the best, the summer will be way better! I’m hoping for a lot of sun within the next month and on top some nice shootings, I’m already planing at the moment. By now I just wanted to show you the poster of this years German Wakeskate Championships which shows Sandro Reinhardt in a picture I took. Just have a look.

I’m really looking forward to this event, because the spot at Blaichach in the southern part of Germany is known for it’s epic surrounding: the Alps. Hopefully the weather is with us and we’ll see a nice contest down there!

The 2nd thing I want to show you is the backcover of the Bedroom Or Dancefloor DVD, which you can buy since two weeks! The film is really worth every single Euro, so don’t hesitate: GO GET IT! As I’ve done some work for the guys from Hamburg, I now want to show you the backcover with a shot of Lior Sofer, I took! Seeing this picture always reminds me of those fantastic sunsets at Hip-Notics.

Perfect time at Warth-Schroecken

As Warth-Schroecken is known as a perfect powder-area, with easy-entry ‘back-country’, it was simple to find a spot. Also the pictures look like being shot far from crowded areas, it was just some meters away from the slopes. Facy and Flip figured out some nice lines, hiked and finally hit them. The only problem was the missing fresh pow. That’s why sprays weren’t that massive, but at least quite funny in the end, especially Flips crash!

All together a nice start into a nearly perfect weekend which ended for me, with a rib-hit by a skier and a cold which isn’t that nice in combination with the pain whilst breathing. Anyway, have fun watching the pictures as we had while taking them…

Unleashed #34 Cover

If you are interested in reading the whole story, just check out the Unleashed Flash-Mag #34. Otherwise at least have a look at it! It’s printed on pages 46 to 51. All main pictures enclosed, where taken at our trip to Hip-Notics, Antalya, last November and some of the small ones where shot at Thulba Cablepark last summer, when the crew showed up for some filming. I attached a small gallery below, where you can find the pictures shown in the article. I’m really looking forward to hold the printed version of this issue in my hands, asap! This time the motto of the magazine is “Here Again” and this might also fit to NewSchnitzel and their ad, that is part of the issue as well. (You’ll find it on page 21! ) The picture shows Sebi Thums at Turncable Thannhausen and was taken while we where shooting for ION-Essentials, last august. So big thanks also to Volker and ION, for making it possible, to use this pic for the ad! Better watch out for NewSchnitzel and especially the HT flex board 2o10! Sebi already showed the possibilities with his jib-weapon at Wake-The-Pool last weekend and went home, winning this first contest of 2010! Congratulations by the way.

Last weekend the CAD-Tour went on to Heubach. It’s a very special place, but one I love since I’ve been there for the first time. Again the weather was not the best! This time even worst for me, because if the weather would have been better, there would have been the chance to do some helicopter-shooting, as we did last year! Maybe next year again?!

The pictures from all the contests are shown at the ChillandDestroy-Homepage, so just visit it, if you want to see, what happened there. The videos might be interesting, too. At Heubach we also had our first teamshooting after the contest. All started last year, when some of our guys from the team where so pumped to shred after the contest and I just started to take some photos. And we continued this, ever since. Now it was again Matty, Alex and Flo who wanted to shred the park after the contest. As it was quite cold and already a long day the output is just small, but some nice ones, of course. I just put them into a small gallery. So have a look, if you want to.
