Another year passed and we had again a super successful season for our German Wakeboarders. And now it’s time to vote for this years Rider Of The Year! mag71 and thegapmagazin.com just started the voting and I’m quite happy, that one of my pictures made it to get printed on those ROTY flyers and posters as well as being spread in the Internet. As in former years the acting ROTY is seen in on the flyer: last year Dominik Guehrs took the win and so he made it to print for 2010. Here is the final version…

If you want to, just visit thegapmagazin.com or mag71 for participating in this selection. Some nice stuff sponsored by ION-Essentials, Turncable, Liquid Force and Nike 6.0 could be yours afterwards! Or maybe you want to visit the party at Duesseldorf, taking place at 28th of January?! Further information will follow in those magazines. And here are this years nominees…

But the reason I’m telling you about this, is actually the shot of Dominik. I took it at this years Ropebash, organized by Wakeboarder Europe Magazine, which took place at Turncable Thannhausen lately this season. Thanks for my invitation again! I think its the first time that one of those shots of this years Ropebash was used?! The setup was a transfer with a kicker into the downrail part of the Relentless-Rail. After some sweet transfer sequences in the afternoon we decided to do some nightshots, too! After a long session Niki finally wanted to do some of those “transfer-wallride-presses” or whatever you like to call it?! I really liked his smooth style and that’s why we took this for our layout. Here is the uncropped picture.

Additionally  some words on the “role model” topic. I didn’t want Niki to ride without helmet! Normally safety gear is an essential for every rider and we had a tough discussion, whether to use this shot without helmet, or not. In the end we decided to use it, because the picture just fits quite perfect into this years theme. Although Nikis trick is actually a save one for him, he knows about the importance of helmets!

So my comment in the end: don’t try this at your local wakepark! Fortunately it’s not possible to ride without using helmets and vests at nearly all of them and Niki just had the chance to shred without, because we were doing a “professional shooting”! As nothing bad happened, I’m just happy to own this shot and on my publication…
