O’Neill Wake The Line 2011 was the biggest wakeboarding event I have been to by now. As I was asked to take photos for UNIT Parktech there, I spend some more days at Cologne. First day I attended some media-stuff with Daniel Grant and after that: took him to LA cablepark, which was probably the most important thing for this kid. ;) Anyway, it was fun. The shot below was taken while Dan was doing some riding on the kicker for the media, whilst the building of the rails and stuff was going on.

Daniel "Turtle" Grant

After the UNIT crew installed the sickest setup I have seen so far, it was up to the riders, to check it out. On Friday night, the riders draw took place. Besides we where drinking some typical “Kölsch” beer. Fun though, again. Saturday was the day where the comp took place. All began with a short storm, but after that, the sun came out and over 8000 spectators saw several hours of state-of-the-art wake-railriding at the Stadionbad, Cologne! Daniel Grant won the wakeskate competition, with an age of only 13. Respect! But the highlight of the day, was of course the wakeboarding finals. Nico von Lerchenfeld ended up winning. No more words needed, it was INSANE!

So here is my photo-recap of those days at cologne. Thanks UNIT! Mark your next years calenders: 2nd June. Can’t wait for WTL 2012…
